The Couple:
“Baby, just let it be So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me? See where this thing goes. If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be Baby, if it’s meant to be” (Florida Georgia Line- Their first dance)
Ashley and Jacob met in an unconventional way over 10 years ago on the exact date of their wedding. Jacob is a professional tattoo artist and Ashley walked into his shop seeking her first tattoo. She states they dated briefly, but they weren’t wise enough or ready for each other yet, so they stayed friends and moved on. Both experiencing a lot in life in those years, which they feel made them ready for each other…then the timing was JUST right! To the point that they have “wavelength moments”. This is when they say or do the same thing at the same time. It happens pretty frequently. Jacob and Ashley knew they were finally in sync with one another.
Jacob has a 5 year old son who is excited to have a “bonus mom” as they call Ashley!
Jacob proposed to Ashley at Diamond Head Mountain in Oahu, Hawaii on their “pre-wedding moon”. Ashley says “Yeah, we did things a little backward, but that’s us!”
The Wedding:
One of my favorite things about this wedding was the laughter and light heartedness of the bride and groom. They didn’t seem nervous at all. Ashley slipped on her gorgeous lace dress and Jacob along with Caleb were matching in grey suits with some pretty stylish shoes! You could feel the love in the room as Ashley’s parents walked her down the isle towards Jacob and Caleb. When it came time for the vows, Ashley said her vows to Caleb first. It was so moving. You could see the bond Ashley and Caleb share already. When it came time for the vows between Jacob and Ashley, there already wasn’t a dry eye in the house (It makes it challenging for me to shoot when I am bawling lol), but a blended family reaches home for me. The vows were said, the rings were exchanged they all 3 jumped the broom into their new lives together before Jacob kissed his bride with Caleb looking up in between them. It couldn’t have been a more perfect moment.
The reception was held at Jacob’s mother’s house. There were small details and some really delicious food. The night ended with a first dance, some cake and champagne…and Jacob removing a sixpence from Ashley’s shoe.
