Morgan + Nick

The Couple:

I met Morgan and Nick last year for their engagement session at Quiet Waters Park (check out their session HERE).   This is when I found out that Morgan and I have a lot in common, including Crohn’s disease. I instantly felt a connection to her and understood her pain and challenges that come along with that. So on the wedding day, when I first saw her I said “don’t worry, I brought medicine (and took some) and she said “ME TOO!”  We giggled because few people will understand the significance of that.

Nick and Morgan met through a mutual friend. Nick went to Grauls Market to see his friend, who worked in produce department.  By chance (and fate) they went over to the bakery department where Morgan worked. They stayed connected ever since. Fast forward 8 years!!! The engagement was set up as a dinner for a friend’s wife at Chop House in Annapolis for her birthday.  After singing “Happy Birthday”, Morgan turned around to a engagement ring on a desert plate. It was a complete surprise.  She told Nick that she wouldn’t mention any details of wedding planning for 6 months, but after that…. it was on! They have two dogs (who were included on their cake topper- see pictures below) A pure black lab named Colt and a Cock-a-poo named Charlie.  They plan on having their honeymoon at Sandals in Exuma, Bahamas

The Wedding:

October 5th was probably the best weather for the entire 2019 year. It was 68 degrees, sunny with random big, fluffy clouds in the sky.  When I arrived at the air B&B where the girls were getting ready, the mood was so upbeat! They were giggling, joking around and were really just taking in the time before Morgan’s wedding. When Morgan showed me her dress, we both pretty much jumped up and down because I knew she was going to look gorgeous in it and she knew I would love photographing it! Bob and I captured the details while she continued to get ready.  Her dress had her mom’s dress sewed underneath in the shape of a heart. Her earrings were borrowed (mom’s) and her blue was her garter. She was ready to get married!

When they arrived at Renditions Golf Club, she was ready for her “daddy first look”.  It was outside, she walked about halfway to him and called him to turn around. Wait until you see his face!!! Her dad has a really funny sense of humor and I think he helped Morgan calm her nerves before she walked down the isle. Their colors were wine, navy and silver. The bridesmaids were gorgeous in their wine, floor length dresses and the flowers from “Little House Of Flowers” were to die for!

Just before sunset, Nick and his groomsmen walked down to the pillars of flowers where he would marry Morgan. He was wearing his sunglasses (anyone who knows Nick, knows this is him!) but we convinced him to put them in his jacket for the ceremony. Their officiant, Steve Moody kept it genuine and spoke of the new commitment they were taking. They kissed as everyone cheered.

We took pictures by a beautiful willow tree with the sun glowing in the backdrop. The flower girl did some twirling and golfers were passing by in their carts yelling “congratulations”.  We went to a bridge just before the sun set behind the trees and captured the “just married” pictures complete with a veil toss (of course)!

The energy was HIGH as the bridal party came in to the reception. Speeches by 2 maid(trons) of honor and the best man. Cake cutting was relatively clean except a little icing on Morgan’s nose. Nick then went all the way under the dress for the garter. When he threw it…all the single guys ran from it and it fell on the floor, lol!  The night ended with a bonfire out back and everyone taking turns in the photo booth.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hofmann! Have a blast on your honeymoon!
