The Couple + Session
Christian and Erica met online through a dating app called Bumble. At the time Christian played professional baseball so he was constantly traveling, but they made the distance work. Two years ago Christian retired and moved to join Erica in Northern Virginia. Since they first moved in, they discussed often about getting a puppy. This past Christmas Christian surprised Erica with a golden retriever puppy. After finally getting around to reading his name tag, it read “will you marry meâ€. Erica said it was perfect in every way. This is one of the reasons it was so important that Franklin was a part of the engagement session. He did, after all, help with the proposal 🙂
Erica messaged me earlier in the day and asked what the contingency is for rain. The forecast said there was a low chance. So I explained how fun Maryland weather can be and said if we got rained out, we would reschedule. Our session was scheduled for 6:45. Well, we got there at 6:20 and started shooting right away because heavy clouds rolled in. We started with pictures that included Franklin. All together, we had 22 minutes before the rain started pouring down. We took advantage of every.single.second. Once it started raining and we ran to my Jeep for cover, I explained to Erica that it would be raining until dark so the session is essentially over, but we will reschedule. I also asked if they were brave enough to go out in the rain to get some pictures. They were trusting and we got some amazing shots! All together, for 22 minutes, I will be able to deliver 66 images. That’s 3 edited images per minute. We rocked it for the time we had!
We are excited for engagement session 2.0 and their wedding next August.
