The Couple
Jenifer and Deji first met 12 years ago while attending Towson University. A few weeks after meeting they ran into each other at a campus event, danced the night away, and the rest is history! In pursuit of their educational and career goals, they made the decision to spend the last 5 years living in different states. Though this wasn’t the easiest decision, they knew how important it was for each to grow both as individuals, and as a couple, and have really enjoyed weekend trips discovering the awesome parts of Western New York and Boston! Just over two years ago, Towson once again brought them back together when Deji proposed in the exact spot they first met! They have recently relocated to Boston, together, and are so excited to once again be together in the same city. They are so excited to FINALLY celebrate this occasion with all of their friends and family who keep telling them they have waited long enough!â€
The Wedding
We LOVE multi-cultural weddings. Seeing two families come together and learn the other’s customs is truly a joy to see. Deji’s sister told us she had to quarantine 14 days in Turkey before making it to the United States. Family traveled from all over to celebrate this long awaited marriage! They had a Nigerian celebration before the Jewish ceremony. After an emotional and sweet first look, we took some pics of the couple then met with their very excited bridal party. The Ketubah was signed and witnessed then they walked down the aisle to say “I do”. Deji and his sister lit a candle in memory of their mother. When it was time for the vows, they “rock, papered, scissored” who was going to go first. Jennifer won :). Their vows were original with some humor and emotional points….basically they were perfect. The finished up the ceremony with Deji breaking the glass. That was a symbol for it is now time to PARTY!!! The DJ, Josh Baynham with Chris Styles Events read the crowd well and had them on the dance floor all night. After the first dances, they did a custom Horah dance (lifting the bride and groom in chairs), then a custom Nigerian dance (Prosperity Dance). A custom to spray small bills on the happy couple to symbolize their hopes for good fortune. They even used a money gun! So much fun! They danced the night away as two families blended into one! It was beautiful to capture!
