Kevin and Jessica have been together for 6+ years. I met Kevin through my job as a firefighter (we used to work together) and Jessica separate from Kevin through animal control. Since then, I have done sessions for them, both joyous and sad/bittersweet. They lost their rescue dog Gus last year and I was able to be there for them to capture his last days. They gave him the BEST life. Since then, they have rescued another sweet pup that will be spoiled all the days of its life.

I love keeping secrets like these!!! Kevin contacted me a couple weeks ago to capture his proposal to Jessica. He chose Linganore Winecellars and a private tour/tasting. He face-timed me to go over the best location indoors to pop the question.  He also solicited the help of Jessica’s best friend to ensure Jessica would get her nails done beforehand.  The night before this proposal, they went out to Circus Soleil and had “box seat” type tickets. Jessica said she thought maybe that would be it, but it didn’t happen so she didn’t think anything else of it.

I arrived at Linganore shortly after Jessica and Kevin started their private tour. Kevin snuck in a couple texts to let me know where they were in the tour. I hid in a closet in the private tasting room. Their tour guide, Chaz made sure to make enough noise so I knew they were entering the room. Once in the room, Chaz excused himself to get wine and cheese and let Kevin have some privacy. They walked past the “spot” Kevin and I discussed was best and it took some convincing on Kevin’s part to get Jessica back to the “spot”. He knelt on one knee, she said “is this really happening” and started crying. My heart was racing probably as fast as theirs were! She said YES (of course!). They enjoyed some cheese from a charcuterie board and toasted to their joyous news.  Kevin also surprised her with the wedding band that matches the gorgeous, two tone engagement ring they had custom made.

Once finished, we had access to the entire vineyard to explore and take pictures. They took me down to some of the vines to taste a grape right off the vine, which was a first for me!
