Kacey & Chris Married!

The Couple

Kacey and Chris met their first year as freshmen college in Charleston, South Carolina. They grew up in the same area and used that to connect during the first month or so.  Dating came very naturally for them. They said it felt like they didn’t know each other one day, then dating the next.  They have been dating for 7 1/2 years now. Kacey is finishing up Grad School concentrating in marine science. Chris is going to begin Grad School with a concentration in Public Policy. Kacey GRADUATED with her Masters right before she said “I Do”.

Chris decided to propose in Charleston where it all began. It was the first time they had been back in a long time. He got down on one knee at the spot they walked to on their first date. You can check out their engagement session HERE!

The Wedding

What a gorgeous day! When we arrived we were greeted by Chris in the hotel room. We kind of kicked him out so Kacey could return from the spa to get into her dress.  We were working with our favorite videographer, Mitch (from Mitchell Goldstein Media) so the energy was high and we were ready to rock this day!

We started out ahead of schedule (which we love) allowing for us to take our time and really allow for Kacey and Chris to soak up the day. Kacey wore a form fitting gown with a cathedral length veil. It was beautiful and she looked timeless. The bridesmaids wore seaglass green dresses. Their first look was in the ceremony room at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. A room surrounded with windows, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and the Bay Bridge. Kacey asked that they face each other and close their eyes so they could see each other at the same time.  On the count of three they opened and had their first look in front of the arbor Kacey’s father built. It was GORGEOUS!  The ceremony was perfect. Chris got emotional as the music began and he walked down the aisle with his parents. When he saw Kacey walking toward him there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. You could feel their love radiating in the room.  Chris broke the glass at the end (Mazel Tov!), but broke it so hard it stuck to his shoe. When we asked him about it he said he knows someone who tried to break the glass and it wouldn’t break. So he wanted to be extra sure he didn’t have that issue. He didn’t, it broke without issue.  The reception started with Chris’ mom and Kacey’s dad both doing a speech together. It was funny and heartfelt. Some memorable moments were when Chris’ mom mentioned how well the couple handled COVID. The family wondered if they every fought. Kacey and Chris admitted they do have disagreements, but love and respect each other and never raise their voices.  The speeches by the best men and maids of honor echoed how kind and generous both Chris and Kacey are.  The parent’s dance was also done at the same time, then they switched where Kacey danced with Chris’ dad and Chris danced with Kacey’s mom. Super sweet moment!  They ended the night with a dance with just the two of them in the ceremony room overlooking the bridge and then were sent off by guests with bubbles!
