Jamie and Bob met 15 years ago! They do work for the same fire department, but do not work directly with each other. They became friends long before they realized how much they really meant to each other. They have been married since November of 2016. They were going to get married June of 2017, but decided to elope due to Jamie having Crohn’s disease. This allowed for him to use sick leave and take care of the twins when necessary for work. Madelyn and Grayson are twins, but look and act nothing alike! They are, however, very close! This family is not conventional (or maybe it is these days?) but it is full of love and adventure! They wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂
In 2021, the team added one more to their group to make them a trio! Jamie is the primary shooter, Susan is the secondary shooter, and Bob does what he does best- coordinating! If you check out our reviews, you will see this is best way for us to ensure we capture every single moment and memory. We also ensure your day goes very smoothly and you only have to focus on getting married and enjoying the day! Together, we create a high-end, personal experience your guests will be raving about for years to come!

Jamie is a mom, wife, dog lover, career Fire Captain (yep, you read that right…for over 17 years!), Jeep lover and purple obsessed. She began shooting 9 years ago when her twins, Madelyn and Grayson were born because she wanted to capture every moment. She is the primary shooter, blogger and main contact for Northern Lights Photography.
Jamie’s favorite hobbies include skiing, hiking in the mid-west (like Teton National Park, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park), spending time with family and attending little league baseball games. Hiking and Skiing were introduced to Jamie by Bob when they were dating and now they adventure together.
Bob is a step-dad (to Madelyn and Grayson), also loves dogs, wildlife and nature photography as well as the outdoors. He recently retired as a career Battalion Chief with significant experience (over 30 years to be exact!) to pursue a dream job as a forensic fire investigator. He is Jamie’s assistant and handles the business aspect. He also is the person who will be chatting with everyone at events and making sure everything goes right! He does second shoot for Jamie when warranted, but his main focus is coordinating to ensure everyone has everything they need for a picture perfect day!
Bob’s hobbies include skiing, spending time with family, watching outdoor shows with Grayson, traveling to the midwest and cheering on the twins at baseball games!
Susan worked with Jamie and Bob for many years in the fire dept. before hanging up her helmet and picking up her camera. She is creative, passionate, and has an amazing eye. She shoots the same equipment as Jamie and Bob and was taught by Jamie. She is fun and is especially good with bridal parties! She owns a horse farm in Westminster with her husband, Paul and has 3 step-children.
Susan's favorite hobbies include horse back riding, traveling around the world learning about various cultures. She also enjoys hiking in the mid-west (like Teton National Park, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park) with Jamie and Bob photographing bears! She has a talent for making paper flowers and did an entire wedding of arrangements for her step-daughter. They were gorgeous!
While Jamie was a hard core Nikon shooter, she fell in love with Canon's new mirrorless system. With a little nudge from Bob, she made the switch to the "dark side" and never looked back! Jamie uses a Mac operating system, while Bob uses PC. The same is true for their cell phones. Jamie is team Apple and Bob is team Samsung. They have an office set up together but each have their own space :)

"So random, but we both don't like "hot" drinks. We don't drink tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We don't even own a coffee maker"
Jamie, Bob and Susan have over 75 years of combined experience in the fire service! Susan was Jamie's recruit training officer teaching her everything she needed to know about the fire dept. Now, Jamie has taught Susan everything she knows about photography. Decades of support a friendship make their workflow seamless.
