The Couple

After chatting on Hinge for a few days, Lauren walked to meet Dima at Red Star on a frigid January night. They chatted over drinks for a few hours, where Dima (an engineer) got visibly excited when he found out Lauren had a degree in engineering and was currently working as a nurse. By the end of the evening they already had their next two dates planned within the next five days. Lauren, sensing Dima was a good guy, let him drive her home to avoid another walk in the cold. They both left the date knowing they met someone special.

The Proposal – To celebrate their anniversary, Dima planned a romantic weekend getaway to Annapolis. They stayed at a quaint bed & breakfast and made late dinner plans to celebrate their anniversary. Little did Lauren know, Dima had been scheming with her cousin for over a month to plan a special evening. On their way out to walk to dinner, Dima opened the front door and Lauren was surprised to see a couple standing there. Moments later, the couple was inside and Lauren realized it was her cousin and her husband. Lauren then turned around to see Dima down on one knee. Not one for public speeches, Dima simply said “I love you now more than I did two weeks ago, will you marry me?” Not remembering his speech or her response, Lauren said “YES!”

The Wedding

The wedding took place on a gorgeous fall day near Baltimore, Maryland. Lauren and Dima are very detail oriented and worked so well with us on their timeline. Dima made the place setting cards for the reception and various details for the wedding. Both Dima and Lauren were very intentional with their day and it showed. They chose to do a first look because it would be dark after their ceremony and it allowed for them to have a few minutes together. When Dima turned around and saw Lauren it took his breath away. The sweetest moment! Their bridal party joined them after bride/groom portraits and then the signing of the Ketubah. Their Ketubah is GORGEOUS! A piece of art for them to hang in their home and cherish for the rest of their lives. During the ceremony, they exchanged their own vows and it was sealed with the breaking of the glass and a kiss. The cocktail hour was outside with warm fire and a live band. Dima and Lauren danced their first dance with family/friends looking on. They danced the night away. A perfect ending to a wonderful day!
