The Couple
I worked close with Lisa Almendra, owner of LA Signature Weddings to collaborate an amazing surprise at the premiere bridal show she coordinated on February 23rd. She learned that Larry and Michelle, owners of MD Mojo Video & Photo Booths were planning on getting married in Vegas the very next day! The only problem is that their parents were unable to travel. It meant a lot to both Michelle and Larry that their family attend, so Larry coordinated with Lisa to have a REAL wedding at the bridal show instead of a mock wedding! When Lisa contacted me, I was so excited to be in on this not so little secret! Instead of being married by Elvis (which can be fun), Michelle decided she would rather have her dad walk her down the isle to the love of her life. They chose not to see one another for a first look. I was dying for Larry to see his gorgeous bride. With some amazing vendors hand picked by Lisa, I knew it was sure to be spectacular. Larry and Michelle still went to Vegas on Sunday, but instead of getting married, they enjoyed their honeymoon!
The Wedding
One of my very favorite venues to capture moments at is Bleues on the water in Pasadena, Maryland. Sitting right on the water between Baltimore and Annapolis, this venue is tucked away. With a gazebo, dock, views of one of Maryland’s premiere waterfront properties, there are so many incredible options for the perfect images. One of the bonuses with Bleues is that they have a 2 level suite where both the bride and groom can have privacy to get ready for their big day (separately without seeing each other of course). With walls of windows and bright natural light, I am able to capture soft, elegant and timeless moments. Because they don’t have to rush from place to place and can enjoy their whole day at one location, this allows for them to relax, be waited on with champagne and snacks from the friendly staff and take in every moment. Michelle with her daughter and mother relaxed in the bridal suite getting hair and makeup done by Sarah with Infinity Artistry. While Larry was waiting to get dressed (takes guys a lot less time 🙂 ) he and their family set up their booth for the bridal show that was happening in the Holly Ballroom. At a quarter to two, I accompanied Michelle in the black sedan located out front and Michael J from WPOC announced to all of the visitors, brides and guests to take their places outside near the gazebo for the wedding! It began to rain as Michelle’s dad walked towards the sedan and escorted his daughter with clear umbrella in hand to her groom.
During the initial presentation of the ceremony, I got down low to capture an image and dropped my camera (EEEKKKKK!!). Luckily, I only damaged the lens cover and didn’t damage anything expensive (thank goodness for back up cameras and equipment. I didn’t miss a beat with continuing to shoot the ceremony). Michael J came behind me and whispered “are you okay?” It was so sweet! I am used to rolling with whatever happens so I was just fine! I captured everything and didn’t miss a single moment The wedding was sweet. Michelle and Larry got the best of both worlds. They got a romantic, spur of the moment ceremony and their families were able to attend. I am so thankful I was able to be a part of their day!
Congrats to the new Mrs and Mr. Selleh!
