Cecile and Will Married!

Wedding

June 15, 2021

The Couple

In 2014, Will was working as a welder in Edgewater, Maryland. Cecile graduated from Penn State and moved to Maryland beginning her career as a graphic designer. They first met online. After a few months of exchanging messages they decided to meet in person. They met at a bar called Coconut Joe’s where Will was working nights. They hit it off and decided to have their first official date on the Odyssey dinner cruise ship in Washington D.C. during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Cecile won free tickets through her work and asked Will to be her date for the evening. After dinner and dancing, they had their first kiss on the ship as it cruised the Potomac River. Over the next six years, Cecile and Will learned a lot about each other. Cecile taught Will the art of the selfie despite his avid resistance . Will, in turn,  made Cecile watch all 24 Marvel movies in order. Will spent months welding a 100 pound metal art piece that Cecile designed for her boss’s office. And Cecile vividly relived the Battle of Cedar Creek complete with authentic cannon firing demonstrations. They went on various adventures to any national park, battlefield, beach, or museum within a day’s drive. They ordered Papa Johns and sat on the balcony watching thunderstorms roll in. They learned to hike, toasted marshmallows on the campfire, and fell in love under the stars. On December 7, 2019, Will proposed in front of the Christmas tree at Cecile’s childhood home with her parent’s blessing. The family was so excited that they forgot to secure the tree while they were decorating and it fell over in the middle of the night. The next morning, Cecile completely lost her voice (due to seasonal allergies), but that didn’t stop her from telling all of her friends and family the news via post-it note.

The Wedding

When Bob and I met Cecile and Will, we hit it off right away. Cecile loves purple, but not just any shade, plum. Any purple lover (like myself) knows the shade matters. Cecile and I also love Pepsi and graphic design. Okay, I know this isn’t completely about Cecile and I, but let me just say, we have a LOT in common. They got married at Pine Ridge Farm, which is our favorite venue to date. It’s a gorgeous location and we love the owners. Cecile has connections with the farm too, so it was fate! The day was warm, but not raining! It had rained 2 days leading up to the wedding. The girls wore gorgeous plum dresses and the guys wore soft gray suits. They chose no “first look”, but Cecile did do the sweetest “daddy daughter first look”.  After being introduced at the reception, Will and Cecile had their first dance. This was amazing because they took dance lessons! They visited guests, cut the cake, took some pics at sunset and had a sparkler exit to end the night.

They are honeymooning in our favorite place on earth, Jackson Hole Wy. We just returned from there 2 days before their wedding. Just another reason, we were meant to be their wedding photographers 🙂
