The Couple & Session

Kristine and Tom met online, and within just a few messages were deep in discussions of Biblical theology. They started chatting online in early January 2021 and had their first date on January 16, 2021. Kristine says “by January 30th we were inseparable and knew that God had truly brought us together for a reason”. They love to slow dance to Elvis records. This is what they were doing when Tom told Kristine he loved her for the first time.. His favorite songs to sing to Kristine are, “Let It Be Me,” “Love Me Tender,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”.

Kristine says that Tom had a big proposal planned but the ring arrived late. It was burning a hole in his pocket and he couldn’t wait till the next free weekend to try to do the big proposal again. So on 6.20.21. after celebrating Fathers Day with his family, they went back to his house. She came back inside after taking care of the dogs to find him down on one knee with Elvis on the record player signing “Let It Be Me”.  Kristine said “I was so shocked that I just kept asking him “really? Really!”  They made it back to church in time for choir practice and evening service and to share the news with everyone.

Genesis 24:21 is inscripted on the engagement ring – it tells the story of a man just amazed at how God answered his prayer. Tom explains it as “jaw hanging open, just astonished at what is before him, wondering if this was truly the answer to his prayers.” Kristine’s wedding ring has the inscription: “He has” which means to them that God answered years of prayers from both of them with each other and He has blessed them far more than they asked for or deserve.

Kristine and Tom chose the location for their engagement session. I love when couples offer new places that mean something to them. We met at Piney Run Park just before sunset. There was hardly anyone there and it was a beautiful evening. Kristine chose a beautiful red dress for the session that really “popped” off the background. They changed into something more casual about half way through. They have an undeniable connection. Some points during the session I would just say to Tom “just hold her as you normally would”. They are both so genuine and expressive in their feelings for one another. They chose a January wedding and are busy planning for the day!
