The Couple

Here is the amazing story told by the couple’s point of view:

We met on move-in weekend at Marymount University. That was 11 years ago! Who would have thought that those two 18 year old kids would have met their spouse that very first day. We were both on the Marymount Saints lacrosse teams, It was an instant attraction! Keith says we dated then, but Jacki says we weren’t “official”. Over the years we ended up dating other people, remained friends after college, but ultimately lost touch. It wasn’t until 2019 we were both single and Jacki sent Keith a message on Instagram. Just like when we first met it was instant attraction. We went out a few times and the rest is history. Jacki moved out of her Virginia apartment to Southern Maryland with Keith. In May of 2020 we got a golden retriever/lab mix puppy, Maren. By July 2020 we bought the house across the street from Keith’s best man, David, and his wife, (bridesmaid) Haley. Keith’s brother, Erik (best man) and sister-in-law Kelli (Matron of Honor), ended up buying the house next door. We live at a dead end that backs up to a MD state park, so we like to say we have our own little “compound”.

Fast forward to June of 2021, Keith pulled off the ultimate surprise proposal. Jacki thought she was just going to a winery with her girl friends to celebrate her 28th birthday. After the winery the plan was to go back to Keith and Jacki’s house for a bonfire with the boys. Once the girls got back to the house Jacki walked in the front door to a surprise birthday party! All of their local friends and Keith’s family were there to celebrate. Well, so she thought. Keith had a few more surprises! He had Jacki sit down while he played a video he put together. Everyone else went outside as Jacki watched all of her close friends and family count down the days leading up to the proposal. As the video finished playing all of those friends and family walked in the door. It was such a shock and overwhelming amount of emotions. Jacki’s mom and dad walked her out the back doors for the final surprise. Keith was standing there surrounded by both of their families and friends. A beautiful set-up of rose petals, candles, string lights, sparklers and the perfect song “Boyfriend” by Hardy playing over the speakers. Keith got down on one knee and asked Jacki to spend the rest of their lives together. Of course, she said yes!

The Wedding

We are very detail-oriented photographers who love detail-oriented brides! Jacki is a graphic designer and has an amazing eye for the details. You will see personal touches throughout the blog of her classic, rustic twist to this wedding.

Jacki opted for a cathedral length veil and blusher. When we had our final planning meeting, she told me to give her “all the veil shots” so that is what we did! We LOVE veil shots!  We loved the guy’s light jackets with black bow ties. The guys were in the groom’s suite ready to support Keith. The bridal party is very invested in this couple. It was fun to see the ways they supported their friends throughout the day.

The wedding day showed some showers in the forecast, but Jacki and Keith embraced it. They chose to not do a first look. Due to the weather, I explained to Keith the benefits of a first look, but he stuck to his guns and was sure he wanted to see her for the first time walking down the aisle. He stayed turned toward his best man (with his back to the crowd) until she entered the aisle. This is the first time we have seen this and it was the sweetest thing! Watching his best man tell him when she was coming. It made our hearts melt.  After the wedding, the couple decided on a champagne toast with their bridal party. We did a champagne toast at their engagement session and it didn’t pop much. This time, it popped more than we were prepared for and we got soaked, lol! Luckily, our camera equipment is sealed. Rain storms on weddings create beautiful sunsets. We were able to capture the gorgeous color of the night sky after the storm passed.

As a part of the vibe, Jacki chose a food truck ( Well Crafted Kitchen) and mobile bar (Silver City Mobil Tap Room).  For entertainment she DJ Nick Spinelli for her DJ. She told me she saw him at a wedding 10 years ago and held onto his card because she loved him! He did a phenomenal job! The dance floor was on fire! We love shooting at Pine Ridge Farm and always know it’s going to be an amazing time!  It was refreshing to vibe with a videographer who was invested in creativity with us! Wes McClain Media was on point and we highly recommend him!

Keith and Jacki finished the night with a glow stick exit! We think we may love it more than sparklers! Check it out at the end of this blog!

Congrats Keith and Jacki and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day!

xoxo,

Jamie, Bob, and Susan
