The Couple

Kacey and Chris met their first year as freshmen college in Charleston, South Carolina. They grew up in the same area and used that to connect during the first month or so.  Dating came very naturally for them. They said it felt like they didn’t know each other one day, then dating the next.  They have been dating for 7 1/2 years now. Kacey is finishing up Grad School concentrating in marine science. Chris is going to begin Grad School with a concentration in Public Policy. Kacey is set to graduate one week before their wedding!

Chris decided to propose in Charleston where it all began. It was the first time they had been back in a long time. He got down on one knee at the spot they walked to on their first date.

They wanted a wedding closer to home and fell in love with Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! They are set to marry there next May!

The Session

Kacey and Chris Decided on Old Town Alexandria for their engagement session because it reminded them a lot of Charleston. We contemplated canceling the session for a possibility of rain, but it’s July in the DELMARVA area so there is a chance of storms every day. As it got closer to session time the radar showed a lot of rain. We decided to chance it anyway. It rained in every single picture you see in this blog, but I have to say I feel like we made the absolute best of it. They got a crash course in our posing and it was easy because of their amazing chemistry! Toward the end of the session, we ended up down by the water so their pup, Hudson could be in a few. As we began walking along the water’s edge, it began to pour! So we set up a light to capture the rainfall and it was magical!
